YH□W Type polymeric-housing gapless metallic oxide arrester, comprised of arresterbody and connecting hardware fittings, mainly used for 6kV-220kV lines and substations to prevent damage of insulators or equipment caused by lightning, and to reduce the trip rate caused by lightning stroke.

Lightning protection principle: Under normal operation condition of power grid, the Zinc Oxide resistor in the arrester exhibits high impedance. Under the function of lightning overvoltage produced by direct lightning or induced lightning strike, the zinc oxideresistor disc provides a low resistance and breakover. The lightning currentis discharged to the ground through connecting hardware fitting and arrester body. When stroke by the lightning, the resistance of arrester body enlarges instantly and the power-flow current is totally interrupted, which effectively avoidslightning strike breakdown of wires or equipment damage.

The product has the following advantages:

1）The housingadopting silicone rubberorganic materialsis shaped by mold curing and has a good antifouling property.

2）The internal structure of arrester body has a unique design and good waterproofness. And the arrester passes the 16kA, 0.2s large current &short circuit test and avoids such vicious explosion accident of porcelain-housing arrester in the operation of screening.
