Titanium tetrachloride, or titanium (IV) chloride, is an inorganic compound of the formula TiCl4. Titanium tetrachloride is an important intermediate for the production of titanium metal and its compounds. At room temperature, titanium tetrachloride is a colorless liquid and fumes in air to produce a mixture of titanium dioxide solids and droplets of hydrochloric acid.
