Potassium hydroxide, the molecular formula for KOH, also known as caustic potassium, a strong alkaline chemical raw materials. It is often used in the manufacture of potassium carbonate (glass and special glass for TV picture tube), soft soap, detergent and pigment. It is also used in electroplating, alkaline electrolyte battery and so on. Solid potassium hydroxide is white orthogonal crystal, easy to moisture and absorb carbon dioxide. Soluble in water gives off a lot of heat, easy to dissolve in alcohol and glycerin.
